The chart above is from Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com, and it should worry Donald Trump (and the Republican Party). To win the White House, Trump needs to win all of the red states and then win some "purple" states that Romney lost in 2012. But he is doing worse in those red states than Romney was doing at this time in 2012. If the red state voters aren't solidly behind Trump, how is he going to convince purple state voters to back him (where Clinton is slightly outperforming what Obama did in 2012)?
