It looks like the Republicans are cranking up their "dirty tricks" machine again. Ever since the days of Richard Nixon, they have been doing this sort of thing. It's almost a tradition by now.
Officials of the Democratic Party said Wednesday that someone had hacked the web site of the Wise County Democratic Party. But the hacker showed no creativity. He/She just diverted a link to the site's blog to an index of online pornography. How trite and boring. The web site host said someone just kept trying passwords until one worked.
The web attack was noticed by Democrats last Sunday. They have disabled the link, and moved their blog into their site's news area. The site's administrator said the problem should be fixed in a couple of days.
The thing I enjoyed most about this story is the comment posted on the site Wednesday. It said, "This is actually a compliment. Someone must perceive us as a threat."
I'm sure the Republicans will declare their innocence. I just won't believe it.
