When he received the Democratic nomination for Attorney General last Spring, David Van Os made a pledge to the people of Texas. Van Os said he would campaign from the courthouse steps of every single county courthouse in Texas - all 254 of them. He also said he would file with each county clerk, a written oath of his "convictions and intentions". Van Os is now very close to fulfilling his campaign promise.
As of October 6th, Van Os had visited 247 county courthouses. Thursday, October 12th, he will visit two more courthouses - Gillespie county at 10:30am and Williamson county at 3:00pm. Then he will finish up next week in the more urban Texas Counties. If you urbanites have not yet had a chance to meet David Van Os, then by all means see if you can attend one of these events. I guarantee that this candidate will impress you.
Here is Van Os' schedule for next week:
October 16...............Tarrant county courthouse
October 17...............Dallas county courthouse
October 18...............Harris county courthouse
October 19...............Bexar county courthouse
October 20...............Travis county courthouse
All times are tentatively scheduled for 4:00pm.
Here is a short message from David Van Os to the voters of Texas:
"This year the voters have a real choice for real change. I'm a fighting grassroots lawyer with 30 years of Texas courtroom experience, and I'm determined to protect the people from the corporate robber barons and political insiders instead of the other way around. When your lawyer has a conflict of interest you should fire him, and it's time for the people of Texas to fire Greg Abbott.
It takes a lot more money to sell lies than it does to spread truth. I'll rely on the wisdom of the people in contrast to Greg Abbott's millions of dollars worth of slick television commercials. The people of Texas need a real lawyer to work for them for a change, not a slick public-relations hound."
