An Idiot
It would be a kindness to say this buffoon is just demonstrating senility, but it wouldn't be true. He is just an old-fashioned idiot who believes that women are not as important as men, and should be kept in a second-class citizenship status (subject to the rule of men). And if he has to spread vicious lies to keep the patriarchy alive, he is willing to do that. He obviously has missed the message of love in the book he precesses to believe in, and the religion he claims to represent.

I don't know about the witchcraft bit but the rest of it sums up some feminists fairly exactly, I would say!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about equality that bothers you right-wingers so much? Are you really that insecure?
ReplyDeleteI didn't say a single thing for or against the myth of equality. I was simply saying that Robertson's description, with the exception of witchcraft, encapsulated many of the feminists I read about in my newspapers. Nor, I might add, judged by YOUR quotation of his words, does HE say anything for or against "equality", he only suggests that some feminists have wider goals.
ReplyDeleteDo you have statistics that show that self-declared "feminists" (whatever sort of bogeyman that might be in 2013) have higher bates of divorce, abortion, or "discovery" of homosexual propensities after straight marriage?
DeleteNo, Katy, because I never suggested that they did! All I said was that Robertson's words (except 'witchcraft') applied to many of the publicly well-known 'feminists' to be seen and heard on our media.
DeleteAlso, nowhere in the quotation does he say anything that would logically allow our host to draw the conclusion he does, that is, that Robertson "believes that women are not as important as men, and should be kept in a second-class citizenship status (subject to the rule of men)."
But then logic rarely has a leading role in political discourse!
