Trump Wins South Carolina Primary - Bush Drops Out

(This graphic was done by DonkeyHotey.)

SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PRIMARY RESULTS

(99% reporting)
Trump...............239,660 (33%)
Rubio...............165,790 (23%)
Cruz...............164,677 (22%)
Bush...............57,809 (8%)
Kasich...............56,185 (8%)
Carson...............53,326 (7%)

Donald Trump is the big winner in South Carolina, finishing 10 points ahead of second-place finisher Marco Rubio. Rubio has shown that he is back in the race, and is a force to be contended with. He will probably get a lot of support going forward from establishment conservatives, as the alternative to teabagger-supported Trump and extreme-right Cruz.

Cruz is the big loser. White evangelicals, his natural base, made up about 69% of the GOP voters in South Carolina -- and yet, he could only do third place. He will undoubtably win his home state of Texas, but I'm starting to wonder if there's another state he can win now.

Jeb Bush finished far behind the top three with only 8%. That evidently convinced him that this is not his year, because he suspended his campaign once the results were known. That's good, because he was just going to be embarrassed in his home state of Florida.

John Kasich will probably continue for a while, in the vain hope that some Northern or Midwestern states can put him back in contention. I don't see that happening though. And it's time for Ben Carson to drop out. He's just wasting time and money. The racist GOP was never going to nominate him anyway.

Here is the national delegate count so far:

Trump...............61
Cruz...............11
Rubio...............10
Kasich...............5
Carson...............3
