The fundraising numbers are in, and it turned out to be a great month for Hillary Clinton. She raised about $89 million dollars in July -- $63 million for her own campaign, and another $26 million for the DNC and state parties.
That was the most money that Clinton has raised in one month in this presidential campaign. The average amount was $44 per donor, and 54% of the donors were new (people who had not yet donated to the Clinton campaign). About $8.7 million was donated in the 24 hours surrounding her convention acceptance speech (between 8pm last Thursday and 8pm last Friday).
How did that compare with fund-raising by the Trump campaign? Donald Trump raised $35.8 million in July -- presumably all for his own campaign.
