Four New National Polls Show A Tighter Race For President

Four new national presidential polls have been released, and they show the race is getting tighter. One gives Hillary Clinton a 4 point lead over Donald Trump. The other three have Clinton with only a 2 point lead over Trump. The polls are:

Rasmussen Poll -- September 6-7, 1000 likely voters (3 point moe)

Economist / YouGov Poll -- September 4-6, 955 registered voters (4.7 point moe)

Reuters / Ipsos Poll -- September 1-5, 1084 likely voters (3.5 point moe)

GW Battleground Poll -- August 28-September 1, 1,000 registered voters (3.1 point moe)

I still think Clinton will win in November, but it may be a good thing for the public to see some tight polls. If Democrats and Independents (and anti-Trump Republicans) think Clinton will easily win, then too many of them could stay home on election day. That would be disastrous -- both for Clinton and for down-ballot Democrats. Democrats need a huge turnout in November, and maybe a few scary polls can help to accomplish that.
