Amarillo Has Record Turnout For First Day Early Voting

It looks like there's going to be a big voter turnout here in Amarillo for the 2016 election. The city, which is in Potter and Randall counties, say a record turnout for the first day of early voting on Monday.

Over 5,000 people voted in the two counties combined. Randall county had 3,311 voters cast a vote (about 3.88% of the county's 81,190 registered voters), and Potter county had about 1,700 voters cast a vote (about 3.09% of the county's 55,011 registered voters).

That's the largest first day turnout in early voting for both counties.
