Bill Parcells is doing everything he can to make the Dallas Cowboys a better team. You can tell by the roster turnover, that he really wasn't happy with a lot of the talent he had last year. Due to the large roster turnover, the Cowboys have kept nine rookies on their 53-man roster. This is one of the largest number of rookies that the Cowboys have kept since the 70's, when they kept a dozen rookies - dubbed the "dirty dozen". The year that the Cowboys kept 12 rookies, they won the Super Bowl. I hope this class does as well.
Here are the rookies kept this year:
1. Miles Austin [Monmouth] - wide receiver
2. Bobby Carpenter [Ohio State] - linebacker
3. Abram Elam [Kent State] - safety
4. Anthony Fasano [Notre Dame] - tight end
5. Jason Hatcher [Grambling] - defensive end
6. Oliver Hoyte [NC State] - linebacker
7. Sam Hurd [Northern Illinois] - wide receiver
8. Pat McQuistan [Weber State] - offensive tackle
9. Pat Watkins [Florida State] - safety
The Cowboys play their first game of the season against the Jaguars in Jacksonville next Sunday at 3:15pm. Three of their first four games are road games.
