Tour De France After 4 Stages

Four stages have now been completed in the 2008 Tour de France, and the field is starting to spread out a bit. Yesterday's stage was a time trial. That means each rider rode alone against the clock. There was no peloton to hide in or teammates to help, so we're starting to get a feel for who the strong riders are this year.

So far, the two American teams (Columbia and Garmin Chipotle) are doing well. Between the two of them, they have five riders in the top ten in the overall standings. They also have a team member leading in points for the sprinters green jersey (Kirchen). In addition, they are in first and second place in the team standings. Here are the standings so far:
