"Beaver's" Brother Has Piece In Louvre

Tony Dow is best known for his acting. He played Wally, the older brother of "The Beaver" in the classic television series Leave It To Beaver. But evidently, he's an accomplished artist also, because one of his sculptures in going to be exhibited in the Louvre in Paris, France.

The sculpture pictured above is one of Dow's artworks. He calls it Unarmed Warrior. It is a bronze figure of a woman holding a shield. This is the piece that was picked by a panel of judges to be shown at the Louvre.

The actor has been painting and sculpting since he was a teenager. About the honor of being picked to be shown in the Louvre, he said, "Having something shown at the Louvre is about as good as you can get, especially when it's a juried show like this where there's a panel of judges who pick the pieces to be in the exhibition. I'm a little humbled by the whole thing but grateful nonetheless."

I had no idea that Dow was an artist, but if this piece is representative of his work, then he is very talented. I like the sculpture a whole lot, and I'd like to see more of his work.
