Julia Sweeney On Showtime

Some of you may remember the marvelous Julia Sweeney from Saturday Night Live, although it's been a few years since she was a regular on that show. She's the one that created the character of Pat, who no one could tell whether he/she was a man or a woman. It was a hilarious bit.

But Ms. Sweeney has moved on in her life. She has done a very successful one-woman show called Letting Go Of God, that has been made into a movie. It is a very serious, and yet very funny monologue detailing her journey from christianity to atheism. It's great, and if you haven't seen it, I urge you to do so.

The reason I'm bringing this up right now is because Showtime, the cable movie network, is currently showing Letting Go Of God. For your convenience, I am listing below the dates and times of the next few showings. Give it a try -- you won't regret it, whatever your view of religion.

December 7th at 8:00pm
December 8th at 5:30pm
December 10th at 7:55am
December 10th at 8:00pm

If you don't have cable, the DVD of Letting Go Of God is available from Amazon.com for $8.99.
