An Arizona Welcome

  1. For all the bad press that Arizona law enforcement and the new Arizona law has been getting lately, let's not forget that this incident occurred in Seattle, Washington in the absence of any "lawful contact" with the victim.

The sad fact of the matter is that racism isn't confined to any one state or region of the country. To try to portray it that way is to ignore serious acts of racism elsewhere.

  2. You are right, but I don't know of anyone who thinks Arizona is the only place with racist sympathies. But they are the most blatant about it right now by passing laws that legalize it.

  3. As I've said before, I have problems with the Arizona law too, but on 10th Amendment grounds.

My big concern is that all the efforts in decrying what might happen under the Arizona law takes the focus away from what actually is happening elsewhere. It also unfairly smears the many law enforcement officers in Arizona who are committed to fairly enforcing the law regardless of what law is on the books.
