New York To London - By Train

Want to go from New York to London but you aren't too crazy about air or sea travel? Well, if you're willing to wait a few years you may be in luck. Russia has tentatively approved a 60 billion (in British pounds) plan to build a tunnel under the Bering Strait, connecting Russia to the United States (via Alaska). Once completed, it would allow a three week journey across three continents from New York to London by rail. That could be an exciting journey for those who enjoy traveling by train.

The tunnel would be 65 miles long -- about twice as long as the Channel Tunnel connecting France and England. But engineers say there is no technical reason why the tunnel couldn't be built.
