If the Bible was true, and the Jesus it depicts in the new testament, do you really think he would have approved of spending more than a million dollars to build this cross? Wouldn't that money have been better spent helping hurting people? Wasn't loving everyone and helping the less fortunate the mission he laid out for his followers? Doesn't this gaudy display say more about the narcissism of the church that built it than about their christian virtues?
But... but... those thousands who starved to death when the money from this cross could have fed them... their souls, their souls I say! At least they went to heaven when they died thanks to our missions converting them to Christianity!
