I just finished auditing a class at a local community college and I was astonished at the lack of "general historical knowledge" among the students in my class. Our educational system sucks. So it doesn't surprise me that each new generation lacks a historical background that would keep us from repeating these mistakes. Wasted time, wasted money, and wasted minds! And then there is the arrogance of youth which seems to invent new ways to screw everything up for the US and the world for decades. The children of today's millenials, however, will have to clean up THEIR parents mess. Let's hope they don't make a different mess of their own.
