What "Others" ?

The Republicans would have us believe that most of the people receiving food stamps and other forms of welfare are those "others" (minorities, especially African-Americans). The chart above shows the truth. Most of the people receiving government help are white -- and that has always been the case. In fact, white non-Hispanics get 48.5% of food stamps. That's about half, meaning all other races and ethnic groups would have to be added together just to equal the number of whites on food stamps.

Republicans want Americans to believe the African-American president is somehow taking money from whites to give it to minorities. Nonsense! That's the same old lie about government help that Republicans have always tried to pass off as the truth -- it just sells a little better to the racists with President Obama in the White House.

Personally, I'm getting a bit tired of the GOP trying to divide Americans so they can return to power -- and doing it by spreading lies and half-truths. Regardless of race, sex, age, ethnicity, religion (or lack of it), or sexual preference, we are all equally Americans and should be treated equally. There are no "others" -- only "us".
