If you really want to win an election, it doesn't make sense to piss off the women of this nation -- by taking positions that would be detrimental to their health, happiness, and incomes (and refuse to come down hard on fellow Republicans who would minimize the horror of rape). This is especially true if you have already angered minorities, young people, non-religious people, and the LGBT community. That's a sure-fire recipe for defeat.
