A Balanced Approach ?
As usual, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) is right on target. It is insane to try and balance the budget on the backs of children, the poor, the unemployed, and the elderly. Those people are barely getting by and need every penny they get, while the rich and the corporations are making record profits and paying lower taxes than at any time since World War II (in spite of the elimination of the Bush tax cuts for the richest Americans). The rich should bear a much larger share of the burden simply because they have so much more. And don't try to claim that taxing the rich (and the corporations) will hurt job growth. That's just a Republican lie! Taxes have nothing to do with job growth or reduction -- and never will.
