Calm Down

Every time someone suggests we need some common sense restrictions of who can get a gun and what kind of weapon should be available, the right-wing goes off the deep end. They instantly start spreading the lie that President Obama and the Democrats (and other progressives) want to ban all guns and take guns away from responsible citizens. It is a LIE! And it is a scare tactic used (especially by the NRA, which has devolved into nothing more than a lobbyist for gun makers) to protect the profits of gun makers. Don't fall for this. Most Americans support the Second Amendment and the right of responsible law-abiding citizens to own a firearm. But they also believe it should be much harder for dangerous people to get a gun, and that no one needs an assault weapon. That's not violating the Second Amendment. That's just common sense.
