Barry Goldwater was one of the few conservatives that I've had any respect for. I didn't agree with him a lot, but he was honest and tried to do what he thought was best for this country. Sadly, his party has now sold out to the Wall Street thieves, the racists, and the fundamentalists who want to force their religion on everyone else. Goldwater tried to warn his party about letting the fundamentalists take over, but they wouldn't listen. Now the fundamentalists, the greed merchants, and the racists have combined to make the Republican Party a farce -- a joke that decent Americans want no part of.
