British rider Christopher Froome had a tougher time in stage 9 of the Tour de France, since his teammates were not able to protect him two days in a row in the high mountains. But he persevered, and although he finished 14th for the day he was able to hang on to the Yellow Jersey as the race leader. Tomorrow is a day off for the Tour's riders, and then the race returns to a much flatter stage -- which should allow Froome's teammates to help him defend his lead.
