How Can They Still Deny Global Warming ?

The chart above, from Moyers & Company, was made from information from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It showing the warming being experienced worldwide divided into 10 year periods. Note that while the warming trend started in the 1920's, it really kicked into high gear in the 1980's -- and seems to be growing faster now with each passing decade. In fact, nine of the ten warmest years on record happened in the last decade (2001-2010). The new WMO report shows clearly that global warming is a reality, and is causing more than just warming of temperatures:

"It saw above-average precipitation, including one year – 2010 – that broke all previous records. It was also marked by dramatic climate and weather extremes such as the European heatwave of 2003, the 2010 floods in Pakistan, hurricane Katrina in the United States of America (USA), cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and long-term droughts in the Amazon Basin, Australia and East Africa."

And this is not a natural occurrence, but is a man-made one. The WMO says:

"The rapid changes that have occurred since the middle of the past century, however, have been caused largely by humanity’s emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Other human activities also affect the climate system, including emissions of pollutants and other aerosols, and changes to the land surface, such as urbanization and deforestation."

Time is running out. Unless world governments change and actually do something to stop this man-made warming, we will do irreparable damage to our climate and environment. We may already be near the tipping point. Unfortunately, too many governments (including the U.S. government) are controlled by giant corporations -- and those corporations don't want to have to spend any money to stop their polluting (and clean up the damage they have caused). That is why they are funding a propaganda effort to deny what is happening -- and sadly, they seem to be winning the argument.
