Just a reminder of how insane the Republican austerity really is. They have already cut social programs to the bone -- in spite of the shameful fact that this country has a higher percentage of children living in poverty than any other developed nation (with the sole exception of Romania). Now they want to cut even more, and will vote next week on cutting another $20 billion from the SNAP program (food stamp program) -- and they want to do that so they can give more money to the rich (through tax cuts).
