I am not offended by your belief in any religion. I just ask that you grant me that same right -- to believe or not believe as I please. This is the very essence of religious freedom. And forcing your beliefs on others is the very antithesis of religious freedom.
The really crazy part is that the ancestors of those who would deny religious freedom in this country, came to this country because they were denied the right to believe as they wanted. Wouldn't they be ashamed of their descendants denying to others what they thought was so precious that they made a very perilous journey to achieve for themselves?
Believe what you will -- but remember that our Constitution grants that same right to every other person in this country.
Freedom of Religion does not specify a majority rule and it is first in the First Amendment. Christians outnumber "others" but we are still a democracy last time I checked. To review the First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
