Friedman is right. The ultra-right-wing does have contempt for the democratic process. But then they've never really believed in democracy -- only in their own sick ideology. I don't mean to paint all Republicans this way, and I don't believe Friedman does either. But it is true for the Cruz, Paul, Palin, Lee, brand of far-right nut jobs
The real problem is that most Republicans will NOT call the "wingnuts" out on their extreme rhetoric and actions. That is irresponsible and shows that they are weak and NOT ready to govern in a Democracy. Their actions make a mockery of our Democratic processes.
