Upside-Down Values

The Big Dog makes a good point here. Anyone can buy a gun in the United States without showing any kind of identification, even criminals and other dangerous people. But laws have now been passed that will keep some people from voting, even though they are citizens and should have the right to vote. That is not the hallmark of a true democracy, but is indicative of corporate power and political malfeasance. Do we really want to make it easier to kill than to participate in our fading democracy?

  1. You mean you would prefer a system whereby ordinary citizens cannot buy guns but criminals can?

    1. Did I say that? You know that I did not! Why is it so unreasonable to require a background check for anyone trying to buy a gun? That would not prevent any decent law-abiding citizen from owning a gun.
