Majority Of Americans Oppose Repeal Of Obamacare
The charts above were made from information contained in a new CNN / ORC Poll (taken between May 2nd and 4th of a random national sample of 1,008 adults, with a margin of error of 3 points).
This poll shows the issue of Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) opposition (that the Republicans were hoping to ride to victory in the next election) continues to fade. A significant majority of Americans (61%) now oppose repealing the health care reform known as Obamacare. About 12% of them want to keep Obamacare as it is, and 49% think it could and should be improved. Only 38% want to see it repealed -- with 18% wanting it repealed and replaced with something else, and 20% wanting to just go back to the way things were before Obamacare was passed.
Repealing Obamacare may resonate for Republican candidates in their primaries, but it is looking more and more like that will not be a winning issue for them in the general election.
