Minimum Wage Is Shaping Up As A Bad Issue For GOP
One more poll now shows that many more Americans want the minimum wage raised to $10.10 an hour than don't want that. This time it's the normally Republican-friendly Rasmussen Poll, which was done on May 6th and 7th of 1,000 nationwide adults, with a 3 point margin of error. The survey showed at least 51% would like the wage raised, while only 39% say it should not be raised.
Other national polls have shown an even larger majority in favor of raising the minimum wage. And this issue isn't even working for Republicans in their own red states -- where polls in red state after red state has shown significant majorities wanting the minimum wage raised. This is an issue that could hurt the GOP in November -- and if the Democrats are smart, they will campaign hard on this issue.
