Minnesota And Georgia Senate Races

Six years ago Senator Al Franken won his seat by the thinnest of margins -- a margin so thin that Minnesota's highest court had to decide the outcome. But things are radically different this time around. Franken has obviously convinced most Minnesota voters that they made the right choice six years ago -- because he currently leads in the U.S. Senate race there by a huge 18 point margin (55% to 37%). The numbers are from a new KSTP-TV / SurveyUSA Poll done between September 30th and October 2nd of 577 likely Minnesota voters (and has a 4.1 point margin of error).

Meanwhile, Public Policy Polling has released a new survey on the U.S. Senate race in Georgia. They polled 895 likely voters between October 2nd and 5th (and their survey has a margin of error of 3.3 points. It shows Republican David Perdue with a 2 point lead over Democrat Michelle Nunn. But that 2 point lead is within the poll's margin of error, which means all we can really deduce is that the race is still too close to call -- a dead heat, where either candidate could win.

The chart below is a demographic picture of each candidate's support among Georgia voters.
