That is a disgusting insult to all those people - you know, 'The People' you claim to worship! - whose body parts are blown to smithereens by, er, terrorists'. Words matters!
So, it's OK with you that people be killed by poisoning their air, water, and soil, but not with a bomb? Yes, words do matter -- and destroying the environment is just as surely terrorism as destroying a building (even if someone makes a profit by doing it).
If corporations are 'people' then they should be subject to the same laws that govern people. Whenever they litter or create some dangerous situation, they should have to make reparations, pay a fine, or go to jail.
I know that if I was seen in the middle of town and let the car oil out of the car and flow down the street to the drain, I would be arrested for littering, polluting the environment, and fined with the clean up fee, unless I'm an oil corporation, then I would get a tax break for claiming to clean it up and not doing so on a grand scale. TERRORIST is too mild a word, just as criminal government is too mild, and the sheeple continue to elect the twits would do this, or allow it. Dave you sound like Dawkins when he said that 'merican girls should stop complaining because their abuse is not nearly as bad as IsLame girls. Sorry but abuse is abuse and terrorism is terrorism; the methods don't matter.
And I suppose you will be agitating for oil prices to *rise* because the drop in price is partly due to all that fracking oil and gas! Surely, you could not live with yourselves taking advantage of low prices when, according to the Marxist dipsticks above, fracking is evil!
"But the Obama administration has proven itself to be no booster of the fossil-fuel industry, and under Obama, the EPA has been no sleeping watchdog. In reality, they have been active and invasive, particularly when it comes to fossil fuels.
The track record of Obama and his EPA, in other words, is one of acute, often even baseless, precaution. Which is important to keep in mind when you read the EPA’s definitive review of fracking and its potential for contaminating groundwater. That is, they have found no proven cases of fracking-related contamination. Exactly zero. Not a single one, anywhere, ever.
“In no case have we made a definitive determination that the fracking process has caused chemicals to enter groundwater,” Lisa Jackson, then head of the EPA, told a reporter in 2012."
And they've been checking for nearly 14 years:
"In 2004, the EPA released a study representing four years’ worth of the agency’s research into the safety and environmental effects of fracking. It “reviewed incidents of drinking water well contamination believed to be associated with hydraulic fracturing and found no confirmed cases that are linked to fracturing fluid injection into coalbed methane wells or subsequent underground movement of fracturing fluids.” It concluded, “The injection of hydraulic fracturing fluids into coalbed methane wells poses little or no threat to USDWs [underground sources of drinking water].” The study was sufficiently exhaustive, the EPA determined, that it did “not justify additional study at this time.”"
Well, if the frackers are terrorists they're not very good at it! All they have achieved so far is make it cheaper to fill your car and heat your homes!
When water can be burned after fracking, I'd say they been very good at it. How much oil & gas stock do you own, David? Or do you just find it humorous that American corporations are poisoning the American people?
ANONYMOUS COMMENTS WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED. And neither will racist, homophobic, or misogynistic comments. I do not mind if you disagree, but make your case in a decent manner.

And exactly how many people have died from drinking water near fracking installations?
ReplyDeleteOh! That many!

ReplyDeleteWell move down stream from the fracking sites and drink that water for 10yrs than tell me about it.
