Michelle Obama Thought A Good Role Model By The Public

(This photo of First Lady Michelle Obama is from the New York Times.)

The Rasmussen Poll (in a survey done on May 11th and 12th of 1,000 likely voters nationwide, with a margin of error of 3 points) recently surveyed Americans on their opinions of Michelle Obama, and she came out looking pretty good -- better than any politician in Washington.

About 55% of the public says she has been a good role model for young people, and 51% give her a favorable rating. I would have to agree. Personally, I think she has been a great First Lady for this country and a good role model -- probably the best we have had since Eleanor Roosevelt. Her combination of intelligence, class, empathy, and beauty is one that few others can match -- and I have been proud to have her representing this country since 2009.

The survey also included a fun question. They asked whether Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton should be the Democratic nominee in 2016. The results are in the chart below, but I found it interesting that among Democrats Michelle Obama polls as well as any of Clinton's current or possible opponents.

  1. I think she's been great and I'd vote for her over Hillary Clinton in a heartbeat.
