Discuss The Issues

  1. This goes right along with my belief that we are going to have a really great primary. I don't know what the others are going to bring, but I expect a good and substantive debate between these two.

  2. I agree. I think these two great candidates will stick to the issues -- and us progressives are going to like a lot of what both have to say. I just hope their supporters can do the same, and avoid trying to tear down either of them.

  4. Very true about supporters!

I just saw this from Jonathan Bernstein, which I think sums up the reality of the race well, "HuffPollster’s Mark Blumenthal and Ariel Edwards-Levy continue their polling of activists and other party actors. The takeaway: There’s just no Anyone But Clinton constituency among Democrats who pay the most attention to politics, even though a lot of them really like Bernie Sanders."

Really: a party that still holds Bill Clinton in high regard should not think that Hillary Clinton is too conservative. Maybe people don't remember that she was the scary liberal in the Bill Clinton White House. Yes, she's pragmatic. But isn't that what most defines modern Democrats? I don't see myself as an ideologue. And I don't see Sanders that way either. We are all just looking for practical ways to make the lives of Americans (and the world to a lesser extent) better.
