No Groundswell Of Support For A Biden Candidacy
Chart was made from the results of a new Rasmussen Poll -- done between September 10th and 13th of a random national sample of 1,000 likely Democratic voters, and has a margin of error of 3 points.
Joe Biden has not entered the Democratic race for the presidential nomination, but some are pushing him to do that. But if he was waiting for a groundswell of support to develop (or for Clinton to fade badly in the polls), then he is sure to be disappointed. Only 38% say he should run, while 39% say he should not (and 22% don't really have an opinion on the matter).
I have a lot of respect for Vice-President Biden. He has served this country well for many years -- both as vice-president and in the Senate. But I hope he doesn't run. He could muddy up the race, but I doubt he could win -- and I don't think he needs that at this point in his life (especially considering his grief over the recent death of his son).
He has already run for the presidency twice. That's enough.
