Dems & General Public Convinced Clinton Will Be Nominee
This meter chart shows the results of a new Rasmussen Poll -- done on November 15th and 16th of a random national sample of 1,000 likely voters. It has a margin of error of 3 points for the general public. No margin of error was given for just Democrats.
Bernie Sanders supporters are still hoping that he will somehow break through and win the Democratic nomination -- but few people believe that is possible. About 85% of Democrats and 77% of the general public say Hillary Clinton will win the Democratic nomination. Just 11% of Democrats and 16% of the general public say she won't win the nomination.
We're still a little over two months away from the start of the primary season, and stranger things have happened -- but it is going to be very tough for Sanders to break through this solid perception of the voters. Most voters won't vote for a candidate they don't think can win.
