Clinton More Popular With Democrats Than Trump With GOP
How popular is Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with Democrats and Republicans? Their net favorable rating (favorable minus unfavorable) with the opposite party is the same. Democrats give Trump a -77 rating, and Republicans give Clinton a -77 rating. That's not a surprise.
What is interesting is how the two candidates are viewed by members of their own party. Clinton has an 8 point higher net favorability rating among Democrats (41) than Trump does among Republicans (33). And that's with the Democratic Party still divided between Sanders and Clinton, while the Republican Party is supposedly united.
The charts are from the Gallup Poll -- done between May 1st and 22nd of a random national sample of 10,598 adults, with a margin of error of only 1 point.
