Most Voters Have No Opinion Of The 3rd Party Candidates
There are four candidates on enough state ballots to give them a theoretical chance of winning the presidential race (by garnering 270 electoral votes). Besides Democrat Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, there are Jill Stein of the Green Party and Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party.
But Stein and Johnson both have a serious disadvantage. A strong majority of Americans don't know then well enough to have an opinion of them. And that is true regardless of political leanings or ideology. That's bad for them, because voters simply will not vote for a candidate they don't know and trust.
This cart was made from a recent Gallup Poll -- done between July 13th and 17th of a random national sample of 1,023 adults, with a margin of error of 4 points.
