Donald Trump has refused to release his tax returns to the public. Hillary Clinton has released at least 33 years worth of her tax returns, but Trump has not released even a single year's worth. He has tried to excuse this by saying he is being audited by the IRS. But the IRS has said they have no problem with him releasing the returns, and at least one president (Richard Nixon) released his returns while being audited.
Trump has also said the American public doesn't care about his tax returns. He is WRONG about that. As the chart above shows, the American people want him to release his returns (and that even includes 60% of Republicans).
And people of not buying his pathetic excuse for not releasing the tax returns. About 59% of the general public does not believe it's because he is being audited. They think he's trying to hide something. Only one group (Republicans) accept that excuse. Everyone else wants to know what he's hiding -- and so do I.
These charts were made with information in the new Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between September 8th and 13th of a random national sample of 960 likely voters, with a margin of error of 3.2 points.
