American Public Supports Trump's Killing Of The TPP
Americans still aren't sure about the presidency of Donald Trump, but he has done one thing a significant majority does approve -- he has killed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The TPP was probably already dead anyway, but Trump has now made sure of that.
Trump's action is no surprise, since he railed against the TPP during his election campaign. And it's also no surprise that 56% of the population supports the death of the TPP. A significant number both of the left and the right were unhappy with the agreement as it was.
Personally, I agree with that 56%. The TPP gave far to much power to the multi-national corporations, and it provided far too few protections for American workers (and workers in other parts of the world).
The chart above was made from information in a new Rasmussen Poll -- done on January 23rd and 24th of a random national sample of 1,000 likely voters, with a margin of error of 3 points.
