The United States Is A Very Divided Country
The charts above are from a new survey by the Pew Research Center -- done between January 4th and 9th of a random national sample of 1,502 adults, with a margin of error of 2.9 points. It shows the United States is a divided country right now -- with 86% believing it is more divided than in the past.
If Trump and the congressional Republicans were smart, they would reach out to Democrats to find compromises that could bring the country together. I doubt that will happen though. In the last few years, the Republicans have shown no interest in any kind of compromise (regardless of how good it would have been for the country).
I hope I'm wrong, but I expect them to continue to try and force their extremist right-wing agenda on all Americans -- and that will insure the current divisions not only continue, but grow even wider.
