Democrats Trust The Media - Republicans Don't

I just found this Gallup Poll survey interesting. Since 2003, the trust in the media among Democrats has been growing (from 42% to 62), while trust has been going down among Republicans (from 35% to 14%). The trust among Independents has remained about the same (about 37%).

It seems that Republicans are buying the myth of "fake news", while Democrats are ready to defend the media (without which we wouldn't have a democracy).

It also shows that trust for the media increases with education, and newspapers are trusted more than TV, and TV is trusted more than the internet.

Results for this Gallup Poll are based on telephone interviews conducted March 9-29 and July 5-9, 2017, with a random sample of 1,810 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. For results based on the total sample of national adults, the margin of sampling error is ±3.
