Public Says Trump/GOP Now To Blame For Health Failures

The charts above are from a new study by the Kaiser Family Foundation Health Tracking Poll -- done between August 1st and 6th of a random national sample of 1,211 adults, with a margin of error of 3 points.

It shows that a substantial majority of Americans (60%) think it's a good thing that the Republicans were not able to pass their "repeal and replace" plan -- including 85% of Democrats, 62% of Independents, and 28% of Republicans. The public knows that Obamacare is a flawed plan, but they thought the Republican plans were all even worse.

After the GOP plan failed, Donald Trump and his GOP cohorts said they would not be responsible for what happened in the future with health care (because Obamacare was passed by Democrats). That may be what they would like, but it's not what the public thinks.

About 60% of the public says any failings of Obamacare (or the health system in general) in the future is now the responsibility of Trump and the Republicans, while only 28% say it would be the fault of Democrats. The public knows that Republicans control both the White House and Congress, which means they could have fixed the problems with Obamacare. Their failure to do so is their own fault.

The Republicans (and Trump) now own the failures of Obamacare -- whether they like it or not.
