Republicans Are losing Faith In The 115th Congress

The charts above are from the latest Gallup Poll. That poll was done between August 2nd and 6th of a random national sample of 1,017 adults, with a 4 point margin of error.

The poll shows the 115th Congress is at a record low point of public approval. Only 16% of the general public approves of the job being done by Congress -- the lowest percentage since this Congress was sworn in.

Republicans had high hopes for this GOP-controlled Congress back in February. About 50% said they approved, pushing the general public percentage up to 28%. But the spectacular dysfunction of this Congress has busted the bubble of most Republicans, and that 50% approval has dropped all the way down to 16% (the same percentage as Independents, and only 4 points higher than Democrats).

This remains a Congress that almost no one respects.
