This cartoon is BS! I have NEVER had a 'big Pharma' (what ever that means)try to make me take their drugs! Yes there may be a large numbers that died from drugs legally available, so what? Who forced them to take the drugs? Who forced them to overdose? When you see men in black forcing drugs down peoples throats, let me know!
You are right. The cartoonist has taken some liberty to make a point. It's more a seduction than forcing anyone. The promise of feeling good along with the ease of supply seduces many, and then bad things happen. Isn't it the same with the gun lobby? They don't force anyone to buy a gun -- but the lies and ease of supply seduce many, and once many are sold, bad things happen (as many humans are not bright in dealing with either guns or drugs). In either case, the victims are just as dead as if a gun was put to their head.
