Most Americans Support Stricter Gun Control Laws
The chart above reflects information revealed in a Politico / Morning Consult Poll. The poll was done between June 15th and 19th (well before the slaughter in Las Vegas). I doubt that those wanting stricter controls on guns has decreased though.
It turns out that a significant majority (61%) of Americans support stricter gun control laws. And that includes most demographic groups -- both genders, all age groups, all races/ethnicities, and Democrats and Independents. Only Republicans have a small majority opposing stricter gun control laws (52%).
The NRA and Republican mantra is that the American people oppose restricting guns. That simply isn't true.
