Does The Government Do Enough To Help Americans ?

The Republican government that we currently have does not think it's the job of government to help people -- unless it's giving more to the wealthy in the form of tax cuts. They want to cut help offered to everyone else. But this is not how most Americans think. Most think the government needs to do more to help most people (old, young, poor, middle class) and less to help the wealthy. That's one reason the GOP is experiencing problems with the coming election.

These charts reflects results of a recent Pew Research Center survey -- done between January 10th and 15th of a random national sample of 1,503 adults, with a margin of error of 2.9 points.
