This poll illustrates just how badly Donald Trump has damaged the reputation of the United States. After withdrawing from the Paris Accords and violating the Iran Agreement, many of our best allies simply no longer trust us. Only 14% of the German public thinks the United States is a reliable partner, while an overwhelming 82% say it is not. That's a huge 68 point gap.
Even Russia gets better numbers than the United States does. About 36% said Russia was a reliable partner, while 64% said they were not -- a negative gap of 28 points. You know the reputation of the United States is terrible when Russia's is higher.
This is from a ZDF TV / Mannheim Research Poll -- done between May 15th and 17th of a random sample of 1,200 German adults.
