U.S. Voters Are Not Happy With How Trump Treats Russia
Donald Trump is still trying to convince Americans that his meeting with Vladimir Put-on in Helsinki was a success, but the voters aren't buying it. Only 27% say the meeting was a success for the United States, while a huge 73% say it was a success for Russia. The public thinks Trump got played by Putin.
And it gets worse. By a 17 point margin, the voters think Trump is weak on Russia. By a 16 point margin, voters think Russia has some kind of compromising information on Trump. And by a 27 point margin, voters are concerned that Russia will again attack our democratic process in this year's election.
Trump is going to have to do more than just tell more lies to get this turned around before the election, if he can get it turned around at all at this point. Otherwise, GOP candidates are going to suffer in November for Trump's weak leadership (and their failure to correct him).
These charts reflect information contained in a new Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between July 18th and 23rd of a national sample of 1,177 voters, with a 3.5 point margin of error.
