Public Trusts Mueller Over Trump On Russia Investigation

Donald Trump has done everything he could to derail the investigation by Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 election. He has called it a witch hunt, said it was biased because the investigators were Democrats (not true), attacked the FBI and the press, and generally acted like someone who is guilty.

Fortunately, while his base might accept his lies and excuses, the general public doesn't. As this poll shows, they like the job Mueller is doing with the investigation more that they like how Trump is handling the investigation -- by a 20 point margin currently. That's the largest margin since this poll has posed this question.

That's the result from the latest CNN / SSRS Poll -- done between September 6th and 9th of a national sample of 1,003 adults, with a margin of error of 3.8 points.

The poll also asked respondents if Trump should be impeached and removed from office. The public was pretty evenly split on that question -- with 47% saying yes and 48% saying no.
