March is Women's History Month. In honor of that, I bring you this chart showing when women got the right to vote in each country. The chart is from matadornetwork.com.
The first country to give women the right to vote was New Zealand in 1893. It did not happen in the United States until 1920 (still less than a hundred years ago). The last country to give women the right to vote was Saudi Arabia in 2011.
This does not mean women are now treated equally to men. There is still much more work to be done. The patriarchy must be dismantled.
